Lifestyle and Wedding Photographer serving Orlando and Central Florida ~ Available for travel
Thanks so much for showing an interest in my work. Welcome to my photo-blog & the place you’ll find out about the latest going-ons of my life. I blog about anything that means something to me – a little about the shenanigans of the awesome folk I call family, some of the current stuff I’m shooting, a bit about the thoughts that run through my head.
My approach is geared towards creating a record of creative yet documentary style photography. My photography has been described as romantic, elegant, raw, and emotive. If you’re a prospective client, and want more information about a session, check out either my Lifestyle Portfolio or Wedding Portfolio.
Now what else do you really need to know about me?
Hmm, let’s see, here’s me in bullet points… if I wasn’t a photographer, I’d be a chocolatier. I prefer books over movies, and hand-made over store-bought. I can’t pass an art store without ‘browsing” (much to my hubby’s dismay). I value honesty in people. I am a grateful follower of Christ. Huge, leafy, spreading trees make me happy. I am learning to watercolor and I doodle on everything. I keep an art journal of my painting and sketches and if you promise not to laugh, I’ll show it to you. I adore type of all kinds and my dream home has a wall bursting with type art. I buy pink things for my daughter even after I swore I never would. I’ve been married to my best friend for over 15 years and he still makes me laugh harder than anyone else. I collect pretty paper, ribbon and birds (art not living) and it makes me happy to just look at it all! If I was a flower, I would be a ranunculus and I would live in a vintage milk glass vase. I dream of food photography. I lose myself for hours on design and art/craft sites and which have resulted in a list of DIY projects a mile long. Traveling to Europe (and Moroccco, and New Zealand, and Africa, and Asia…oh, ok, everywhere!) is on my bucket list. I am inspired by whimsical creative people.
What moves me most in a photograph?
Not that it’s technically flawless as much as that the image evokes an emotion inside me and takes me back to a special moment in time. My favorite photograph of my chidhood is of my father standing next to me while I run my hands through a little stream, and he gazes off into the distance puffing on a cigarette. It’s such a simple image and yet it never fails to make my tummy flutter with remembering all the other countless times my father just stood beside me. And now I have my own family, and I can be a bit maniacal in my instinct to capture as much my loved ones through photography as possible. But I can hardly help myself. Time is so fleeting and I treasure each image of every expression, emotion, & glimpse into their personalities that I have taken of them. My desire is to take photographs for you that you will value in the same way…whether it’s of your wedding and the start of your own new family, or of simply another day in your extraordinary life.
Thanks for taking the time to browse through my portfolio galleries. If you feel a connection with what you see and would like to set up a time to meet for coffee, I’d love to hear from you.
Grace and Peace,
